Kiyo Oden Tyson, Esquire is the founder and principal of The Manna Group, LLC. In her 20 year career she has represented corporations and individuals in a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, joint ventures, corporate formation and governance, government contracting and immigration matters in the areas of technology, business consulting, telecommunications, health care, real estate, sports, entertainment and various other industries. Ms. Tyson acts as outside general counsel on behalf of corporations, including government contractors, non-profits and faith-based organizations, providing legal and business counsel and strategic planning related to day-to-day business and legal affairs. Her work includes negotiating transactions, drafting and reviewing various contracts including: vendor contracts, independent contractor, joint venture and employment agreements. Ms. Tyson’s experience also includes securing outside litigation counsel and monitoring litigation on behalf of corporate and individual clients. Ms. Tyson spent the first 12 years of her career in private practice, including as a partner of two Washington, DC law firms. Ms. Tyson has also served in-house as General Counsel to a District of Columbia government agency as well as Director of Business and Legal Affairs for a government contracting firm.
Ms. Tyson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Howard University and Juris Doctor and Master of Public Health degrees which she earned jointly from the George Washington University Schools of Law and Public Health.
